In the past 5 years under its current direction, the Boys Team at Gymnastix Training Center has become one of the strongest boys gymnastics programs in the state of Georgia. The boys team is currently coached by our Boys Program Director and Georgia 2012 Optional Coach of the Year Kevin Earney who took over the program in 2011. He has been joined by various assistant coaches over the years and is currently assisted by coaches Amin Zadeh, Glenn Rogers, & Michael Holley.
Since 2011, athletes from our team have won a total 68 individual event and all-around State Championship titles (maybe more. it’s hard to keep track), 19 individual event and all-around Regional Championship titles, several JO/JD National Championships qualifiers, and 4 Eastern National event championship titles. They have also produced one athlete, Andrew Bitner, who has been a 2014 & 2016 Jr. National Team member and represented the United States in international competition at the 2016 Jr. Pan Am Games in Sucre, Bolivia. There Andrew helped the USA win team gold and also medaled individually: silver on pommel horse, gold on rings, and bronze in the all-around.
Despite our competitive success, our program continues to focus on the importance of personal success, individual growth, and individual expression. Kids will develop skills that will last beyond simple sport and be carried throughout their rest of their lives by setting and achieving short as well as long term goals, managing time, and making short term sacrifices for long term success. We teach boys to push past their own perceived limits, to reach their full potential, to overcome obstacles, and rebound from setbacks. The first and foremost goal is character, and we strive each day to develop children into more than just athletes.
